You didn’t work on Most Haunted did you Sparky?
No certainly not. They wouldn't need "Film People".
The only reason I worked on the handful of documentaries in the early 90s was because they were shot on 16mm film (as most were then), so they had to be made by "Film People" to keep unions sweet. And at the time - I had just been made redundant from a job in the Theatre - so needed the work, and signed to the right union!
My only link with that program was with Richard Felix, who featured on the early series - whom I have known for quite a while. He left the series for pretty much the same reasons we dislike the programme.
He was drafted in as an Historical Advisor - being pretty good at doing thorough research on Buildings/Myths and pretty well clued up on History - (not being biassed) it was the only reason I tuned in. He got annoyed with the way the show was going - Producers wanted more "Action" rather than the historical element - and he felt what otherwise could have been a good programme was being turned into a circus. So, stuff was hammed up for the cameras.

Actually if they'd have taken more of a historical/factual style on MH etc. they might not be too bad. Shame!

Yes I vaguely remember Richard Felix, he did seem quite clued up on historical facts. I think he was there at the time Derek Acorah was on it.

Guy Martin I find very irritating. 'World's Fastest Tractor', why would you bother doing that? He never looks into the camera on his shows, he's always talking to someone off screen, that's something I find very irritating. All his biogs talk about how 'down to earth' & 'ordinary' he is, how he doesn't own a tv & never watches his own shows...he expects us to watch them though doesn't he?
He's one of those geezers who appeared out of nowhere & suddenly had loads of tv shows all about him, like Bear bloody Grills, he's another I can't stomach. They just get paid to go on jollies.

Spot on there AP, Guy Never Stop Bloody Smiling Martin. As for fastest tractor .................... Also I think nailing a Eurofighter engine and a rocket to set of wheels and then setting it off on the salt flats is just silly. Thats not a car, its a plane with no wings. I'd much rather see how fast they could get a combustion engine vehicle to go. You might as strap a jet to a supermarket trolley. I know they have been doing this for decades but its boring now. Also ridiculously dangerous for no gain.

''Next week, tune in to see Guy Martin climbing the north face of Uxbridge High Street...'' Villain Or how about "Guy Martin and the fastest Supermarket trolley" (one without a dodgy wheel!)
Surely that can't be as bad as the reboot of "Supermarket Sweep"

Bring back Scrapheap Challenge!
I used to like that. Certainly the early series.
