Those rat scenes, along with the talk about dreams, are my favourite bits of both series. What adds to it is Wayne doing that in & out head movement that a lot of Londoners do, Del Boy does it on OFAH. Barry's moral outrage at some of the cake being 'stolen'- "WHO'S DONE THAT!!" -the look on his face & volume of his voice, possibly my favourite moment of all. What puzzles me is how a rat managed to open Neville's locker & then open the tin the cake was in

Isn't it followed by "That was a spiffing bit of cake" ? I also like the bit where Wayne is having some Sausages and Moxey goes to have one and Barry says "Err, Moxey, Fat and Gristle equals Acne and blocked arteries" The accent just adds to the comedy of it. Another great Barry one liner.

A classic Moxey line... "it's not cause I lack the inclination it was because I was badly let down by a girl from Runcorn!"

'Spiffing', great word, people should start using it again Another great scene- 'Ginseng, China's magical root', 'What do I want with ginseng when I can get a magical root with 2 gin & oranges?' Ending with Wayne warming up the sausage with his hairdryer 'Put me down for a sprig of the old Bob Hope, I haven't had a good smoke since we've been out here' 'Here we are trying to grow life enhancing vegetation & all you can think about is mind destroying drugs'

It came to me the other day, and I found myself laughing aloud to myself.....the bit where Oz and Moxey are in Newcastle and they go to Oz's flat, he still has the front door key. So he lets himself in but Marjorie doesn't live there anymore (isn't that the name of the episode?). The feller who's living there now is sat watching TV in the front room and he jumps up....."Who the hell are you?" and Oz replies "Who am I??? Who am I???Who are yees more like!!! Ask the missus, she'll tell you who I am!!" to my favourite bit...."Oh, she will, will she?" and Oz says "Yes, she will, will she..." "Right then....Jean!" and Oz looks round at Moxey and says "Jean? Jean?W ho the hell's Jean??!!!" Not nearly as funny in print but to me, that is a classic scene. Moxey is saying "Oz......maybe we should go" and Oz is saying "nah Moxey man, sit down!!"

22" Pye. Love the way Oz says 'yes she will will she'.
Like the bit where they're playing snooker & Barry, impatient to get on with the game, exclaims 'Neville, it's your...poke'.
The scene where Barry, Oz & Wayne are trying on holiday clobber- 'Never go out of fashion do they bermudas?' 'oh yes, Magnum PI is it?'
'How come you've only got clobber to fit Michael Jackson?' 'We've got the Italian paratrooper in your size' 'Whoever heard of an Italian paratrooper?'

Looking back at the rat scenes, the tin with the cake in is covered with a cloth rather than a lid so it's possible a rat could've got at it if Neville had left his locker open.

Another Rat related line from Barry which sticks in my mind is when the lads have placed some poison down in the hut to deal with the rat and Oz comes along thinking it's a sweet or a Little Fancy as he calls it and eats the small block of poison and also ends up with a raging thirst. When the others realize Oz has eaten it Barry pipes up "You feel alright Oz ? in yourself like" Superbly delivered in his Black Country accent. Classic.

Not thought about it before now but what does it say about Barry that he went into a panic after eating the cake but kept quiet after Oz ate the poison? From what I've read rat poison is not harmless at all if eaten by humans, bit of a writing error there I think, who would leave poison on a table without telling anyone? I think Barry has a bit of a nasty streak, if you look at him when Neville tells everyone some of the cake is missing, he looks around as if he wants it to be one of the other lads. There are a few other occasions where he comes across as a s**t stirrer
