Kaleidoscope: The Swinging Sixties - A Decade of Outstanding Television
Kaleidoscope are hosting a day of guests and screenings highlighting the best of television's offerings in the sixties. The event is on Sat 11 March 2017 at Birmingham City University. On the agenda :- 10am Start the day with a 1969 Granada opening film 10.05 Jango - Treacle on Three Fingers tx: 15.3.1961 Associated Rediffusion 10.30 The Frost Report - Sin tx: 24.3.1966 BBC 11am The Trouble with Men - tx: 13.6.1962 Granada 12pm Softly Softly - Talk to Me tx: 2.2.1966 rx: 16.11.1965 BBC 1pm Play School - 5th Birthday Show tx: 10.4.1969 BBC 1.25 Steptoe and Son - The untransmitted 1965 US pilot 1.55 The Liver Birds - An Interesting Condition tx: 25.7.1969 BBC 2.15 Join Lionel Blair and Brian Tesler as they talk about the work of ABC Television and the numerous variety shows made by ATV and ABC, in particular. The panel will be illustrated by clips from shows as varied as 'Sammy Davis Jr meets the British', 'Spotlight' and the 'Glad Rag Ball'. 3pm This Is Your Life - Honor Blackman tx: 17.12.1969 Thames Television 3.30 The Peggy Lee Show - tx: 26.8.1961 ABC 4.15 Goodbye Again - Episode 1 tx: 18.8.1968 ATV 5.15 Love Story - The Girl Opposite tx: 1.11.1965 ATV 6pm Play Bach - tx: 12.4.1965 Full details hereI went to the Kaleidoscope event in November with Del Boy and Vienna, and it was an exceptionally worthwhile day. Windy, thanks for putting news of this forthcoming Kaleidoscope event on the forum. I am certainly interested in going to another one; the previous event was very enjoyable and interesting. I'll have to look in my diary to check I'm OK for that particular date. Vi

I agree with you about the last Kaleidoscope event, and the agenda for this one looks equally as good, if not better. In particular the Steptoe & Son US Pilot and the Pete & Dud special are a couple of highlights for me.
You’ll need to register for the event like last time, Vienna.
Anybody else interested ?
