Looking forward to the Chinese F1 race. Unexpected weather issue. I wasn't aware of the helicopter requirement.

Watched quali this morning and it was good to see Ferrari on the pace again. Slightly disappointed that Red Bull wasn't closer to the party. Let's hope it's a good race and the weather adds to the drama without spoiling the race.

Good review Batgirl. Speaking of Alonso some interesting news on the BBC website. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/39576099Hmm, interesting McLaren have given their blessing to him skipping Monaco for the Indy 500 as surely their disadvantages would be as low as they can get their. Suppose Indy's a itch Fernando needs to scratch... just hope he doesn't get in an accident/incident there as Indycar seems to have had more safety issues that F1 in recent years.

Interesting race in Bahrain last week. Still early days but looks like Mercedes and Ferrari are quite evenly matched and if things go there way Vettel/Ferrari have a slight edge on Lewis/Mercedes. A bit stupid of Lewis to block Riccardo in the pits but don't reckon he'd have had enough in hand to catch Vettel anyway. Bottas sort of blew a decent opportunity and nether he or Kimi seem to be as good as their teammates at the moment. Glad Massa turned in a decent 6th place but Stroll is showing some rookie mistakes at the moment for his incident with Sainz. Maybe Alonso could swap and go to Williams until the end of the season. That McLaren is a dog but it's catch 22 as Honda are pumping in so much cash they can't really ditch them and go customer engines with Merc, Renault or even dare I say it Ferrari even if it would rocket them up the grid. I think instead of gimmicks like Indy 500 they need to sort themselves out and quick otherwise they may go the way of many other once race winning teams out of F1 these days. Was firing Ron Dennis a mistake? All shaping up to be a good season and if Red Bull can add the the Merc/Ferrari mix bring it on.

The McLaren isnt too bad in race trim. Hovering around P10 whilst underpowered seems to suggest the package can move up the grid if the engine takes a couple of steps.

If McLaren had the level of performance similar to last years car they'd probably be half decent points scorers don't quite know how they've gone backwards this year considering 2015-16 were write off years and they should've concentrated on developing this car a year or more ago.

The engine is new for this year. Unfortunately it's not closed the gap at all.
