Has anybody seen this film with Sacha Baron Cohen ? I watched about Twenty minutes of it late last night, until I got tired and had to go to bed. I'm not really a fan of Baron Cohen's but I must say I found it really funny. I might watch the rest tonight on my own if it's not too late. I hope the rest of it is as hilarious as the earlier part.

Further to that earlier post, after watching the rest of that film I might have gotten a bit carried away there. I certainly found the first thirty minutes pretty funny, and I'm glad I watched the complete film, but as often happens it wasn't quite as good as it went on. I enjoyed it though.

I've never been to Grimsby Arthur, but I can understand some people objecting to the way it's portrayed in the film. On the other hand though, it does show Grimsby folk as being loyal to each other and sticking up for themselves against the world. For anybody thinking of watching it, Be Warned, there are some pretty crude bits in the film, as I found out when I watched the rest of it.

I find Sacha Baron Cohen hit and miss. He can be funny, but doesn't always work

The problem Cohen has, unlike Steve Coogan & Leigh Francis who can perform Alan Partridge & Keith Lemon indefinitely, is that the characters he made his name with only worked because unsuspecting people thought Ali G, Borat & co. were real. Now that he's as famous as his characters the joke no longer works so he's having to re-think. The Brothers Grimsby character seems like a Paul Calf rip off to me. Not sure what he does next as I don't think he can return to the old characters.
