I was at Glastonbury in 2002 - and they played the main stage one afternoon. Totally awesome set, great musicians. Shame you don't hear much about them these days - though I gather they are still going.
The last thing I saw them do was on BBC4 at somewhere like the Albert Hall, and had a huge Belgian Choir backing them on "There goes' the fear". Quite a performance.
I think Elbow did something similar too.

Doves are a good band as you say Sparky, yes they are still going in fact they've scored Number 1 with their new album 'The Universal Want' which has the rather infectious 'Prisoners' on it too. Hope to get it ASAP!
Again they're another 'Dance' band who began life a Sub Sub and had a Indie metamorphasis in the late '90's when their studio burned down too!

Yesterday, in my delivery van, I was listening to Romeo by Mr Big, which was a one hit wonder from early 1977, on one of my mix CDs, and started singing along to it, not exactly tunefully, but enthusiastically, with the window down, while I was at the lights where Barlow Moor Road crosses Princess Parkway. In my own little world, when a rather attractive lady alongside me in a Mini, put her window down, smiled, and said "You're enjoying that aren't you?"
I had to enlighten her as to what the song was, she'd never heard it before!

There was a band in the charts around 1992ish - also called "Mr Big" - they had a one hit wonder called "To Be with You". At first, I assumed the 1992 "Mr Big" was the same band as the 1977 ones.
Here's the 1992 "Mr Big". All long hair and foot on monitor wedge type stuff.

It may have been the same group, although I hadn't heard of the 1992 version until just now

The 1977 "Mr Big" were British, formed sometime in the late 60s. Their last album was released in 1996! They are supposed to be still together in some form or another.
The 1992 "Mr Big" was formed in California in 1988.
