One of our favourite Sweeney actors, George Sweeney popped up in a Channel 4 documentary I watched a couple of nights ago.
It was on Channel 4 and called Saddam Goes To Hollywood, about a film commissioned by Saddam at the height of his megalomania in the early 198o's called 'Clash of Loyalties'.
Anyway, they were doing interviews with the actors from it, and up pops George Sweeney.
If your interested in 80's history and general filmmaking, you will find it fascinating. From the clips, it looks to have been one of the most bonkers films ever made. The back story of how it came about, and filming against the backdrop of the Iran / Iraq war is amazing.
It had one showing at a film festival, then was mothballed, and the master films are rusting in the producers garage!
The main star was Oliver Reed; there is a few clips of him interviewed on set, looking more than a little glazed over! It's available on the Channel 4 player (4oD).

I'll try and watch it on the catch up. Did see it advertised but for some reason didn't watch it. Thanks for the heads up AN.

Like Dirty I saw the trailer for it but missed it, I'll give it a butchers ( of Baghdad ) on 4od. James Bolam is in the film as well as Oz from AW Pet's lorry driver friend Bernie ( Mark Penfold ). There is a very poor copy of it on youtube ( video camera in front of the tv job ) that looks like it was taped off an Iraqi tv channel.
