No sound but some great footage here on these: At 1:31 mins, can anyone guess the big pale blue car coming towards the camera?
Approx 1978 I'd ay
This one about "Regan/1st series Sweeney" era approx. 1974/75
Did anyone on here used to live in "Black 'eef"? Footage from the 70's here! Think "Gerry Leadbetter" from The Good Life is tooling round here in his Volvo estate!
Audi driver hogs the middle lane and wallows over the white lines! (Looks like actor Michael Latimer driving!)
And this one in Woodford, with a clapperboard date of September 3rd 1971, - check out the car transporter load of MK3 Cortinas at 4:29!
Such ordinary everyday scenes then which seem so fascinating now!

Well it is a right hand drive car, so I am guessing it could be an Australian car. Fascinating footage DC Burtonshaw, thanks for posting! The Saint

Great clips Gerry, very nostalgic
As regards the motor at 1:31, I'm taking a guess at a Ford Falcon XA of about 1972/1973? Do I win a prize?
Sam.

Cheers all!! Good guesses on the Falcon, which is actually an XB, a revised version of the XA, looks like the car in the film has a P reg plate. I remember the odd occasion seeing the odd Falcon (usually estate/wagon versions) on the road around the late 70's, wondering what car they were at the time. They looked a bit American but had RHD.
I believe they could be ordered new through special orders at selected Ford dealers, who also could order American Mustangs and quirky German Fords too before 1972 - the Taunus's. Not sure how the owner got them serviced though, or whether a UK dealer would do it, if parts had to be ordered it must have taken some time for them to come in those days, not being an official UK spec car.
