Brilliant,Sam.Great find.Very interesting quote from Villain, that 'everything looks brown',and it seems that is very true with the old pics.I suppose when you watch episodes of The Sweeney a lot of the scenery is very brown,to be fair.Just very of its' time. The place where my mum and dad grew up here in Nottingham doesn't exist in it's previous form anymore,an area called 'The Meadows'.My folks have a book called something like 'Pubs In The Meadows In The 60s and 70s' (it seemed there was a pub every 40 steps you took in those days),it is so interesting with me knowing the area as it stands now,and imagining it as it was back in the day.The photos are very much in the same vein as the ones that Mush is displaying (albeit here in Nottingham,so perhaps a little different, just a different city during the same era)Me and the old man went to see my team,Notts County, play a few months back.So we had a couple of pints before the game, and we get chatting about when he was 20-25 years old,how things were, and on the way to the ground (which is in the Meadows,by the way)he's pointing out to me where things were...."so here, there was a petrol station. And stand here and look that way,and Arkwright street ran straight down there. Here, this was your Grandma's house. We could see the goalmouth from the bathroom window...".etc etc etc .Fascinating.Brilliant stuff.

Another one, this time of Tower Bridge from the south bank courtesy of @london_mush:
And much the same on the right hand side of the road these days but redeveloped on the left:

That Tower Bridge pic is very interesting Sam. Obs the new building on has changed the perspective a bit but the bridge itself looks different these days too. Thanks again mate.

It does look different. The perspective given by the original demonstrates that there was a greater level of zoom than that of the Google streeview capture that I took, but also the colours of the bridge look much different.
I think in the original there is a level of overexposure to make the grey spires appear white and that they contrast heavily against the smog polluted stone that appears as a slate grey. Whereas now the bridge has been cleaned and all the pollutants removed it all looks a constant grey.

Fantastic pics there Sam Tyler. Keep sharing any interesting ones please. The pottery site looked so good with its old buildings back then, and Tower Bridge pics are always I think I may have walked past that Langham Mansions place when I was on holiday a few years ago. (I covered a lot of ground on that trip)

Another picture that Old London Mush has just posted should be very familiar to squad members. Again with thanks to @london_mush here is another picture of Brook Green, this time looking from Hammersmith Road end up towards the St Pauls School:
And here we have the same scene today, courtesy of Google Streetview:
Quite a contrast with the time of year taken and the view through the trees but the only real difference is the addition of the central island.
I wonder what year the original was taken?
Sam.

Nice photo. Looking at the motors i would guess about 1973 74. I say that because the Austin 1300 motor on the foreground left appears to have a yellow number plate.
