The cow girl dresses get worn on a second occasion, when Legs & Co appear on TISWAS, along with Dennis Waterman, and the girls get severely gunged. That description does conjure up various possible scenarios, but having now watched it, thankfully just good old fashioned Saturday morning fun. Definite anti-Beeb bias there in the questioning. The girls was robbed. But I'd rather them covered in gunge than Dennis Waterman Yes, as I've been going through each episode chronologically, I have learned to appreciate the existence of L&Co more and more. I think knowing their eventual fate, bowing out to the Birdy Song without ceremony and being replaced by the narcissistic mess that was Zoo really does make you realise what we lost.

Great work as usual, PP. One of the interesting themes of the reviews is charting the decline of certain bands/trends over a relatively short period of time. I liked Secret Affair, but can only recall Time for Action and My World. I hadn't even heard of their follow up on this edition, though by the sound of it this is no bad thing. Ian Page was touted of the Voice of a Generation at the time, but in reality it was Voice of 1979 and possibly part of 1980 if he's lucky. Best Friend - The Beat The only problem I have with this song nowadays is I keep hearing “why doesn’t everybody listen to UKIP?”. Thanks for this, PP. It will now be filed permanently in my brain together with:- You've thrown away your choice of lobster tickets (lost your tickets) from Al Stewart's Year of the CatYou stopped to smile at me and asked me if I kettle dance - Dusty Springfield's Only Wanna Be With Youand Flies Undone (Love's Unkind) by Donna Summer.... plus several others after someone has said, It sounds like they're singing... As far as The Beat are concerned - cracking band, but what was going on with that strange dance Andy Cox and David Steele perfected? It always looked like they had consumed several pints then realised the Gents toilet was out of order and they should have gone in the service station while they had chance.

Cheers Nightfly And apologies for the re-write of Best Friend. Some good examples you've given there. I'd just like to add "Does she walk, does she talk, does she come from Leeds" for J Geils Band's Centrefold and "That's just an old bathtub scene" for Whitney Houston's Saving All My Love. And I'll stop there The Cox and Steele rubberleg stance wasn't too evident in this performance of BF, but I think it does become more prominent when we get to Too Nice To Talk To and obviously into Fine Young Cannibals. Just the schtick that they dreamed up I suppose. Don't take my word regarding Sound Of Confusion. I do think it's a bit of a meh song, but you may think different if you give it a chance. But they were always doomed after Time For Action anyway. A peerless tune. Yes, Ian Page never quite made anything of himself really. According to the Chart Music podcast he ended up working in a bank. And is a long time Dungeons and Dragons advocate apparently. Not something you can hang your mod credentials on!

Another good review PP and The Clash, Jam and Hazel O'Connor are my picks from this ep.
