Sad news indeed. Spencer Davis was one of the sounds of the sixties, takes me back to family parties for grandparents' birthdays, cousins, happy days.
R.I.P. Spencer.

81 years of age and finally giving in to Pneumonia yesterday. R.I.P Spencer and thanks for the great music.

I am really sad to report that Musician Spencer Davis who founded The Spencer Davis Group has died aged 81 at his California home. R.I.P. Spencer Davis Steed Very sad news. Always sad when a star from that 60s generation passes away.
Thank you for the music Spencer.

RIP Leslie West, singer/guitarist with Mountain whose song 'Nantucket Sleighride ( to Owen Coffin )' is known to many over 40's in the UK as a section of the song was the theme to the current affairs ITV show 'Weekend World', although West does not sing on this track.
West was known for his guitar tone & was a favourite of many guitarists including Pete Townshend who hired him to play guitar on the studio sessions of The Who's album 'Who's Next'. He had a remarkable voice as well, I particularly like this cover of 'This Wheel's On Fire' from his debut album.
