RIP Mory! I know there's a lot more about the man and his music than Yéké Yéké but it was interesting breakout track for him, nothing like anything else in the charts back then.
I do have the Hardfloor remix of Yéké Yéké on 12" too!

Steve Priest (1948-2020)
Gutted by the news from The Daily Mirror, reporting the death of bass player Steve Priest, member of Glam Rock band The Sweet. His was the line, “We just haven't got a clue what to do!" on the track Blockbuster.
"Are you ready Steve?"

Terrible news indeed. Thanks for letting us know Windy. Sweet didn't get the plaudits they deserved back in the day and were a far better band than they were given credit for. Many wrote them off as just a teen pop band at the time. To me they made some of the best sounding music around in the 70s and I'm a fan. Thanks for the music, RIP Steve Interesting Guardian article on the band Sweet Guardian Article

Sweet bassist Steve Priest dies aged 72
Many of us will have very fond memories of seeing Sweet on Top Of The Pops
One of the great Glam bands
Steve Priest, bassist and vocalist with glam rock band the Sweet, has died age 72. His bandmates confirmed the news, sharing a statement from the family. The cause of death is not yet known.
Bandmate Andy Scott paid tribute to Priest, describing him as the best bass player he had ever played with. “From that moment in the summer of 1970 when we set off on our musical odyssey the world opened up and the roller coaster ride started.”www.theguardian.com/music/2020/jun/04/the-sweet-bassist-steve-priest-dies-aged-72

RIP Steve. A great character as well as bass player.
The Sweet are one of my favourite bands, like Slade there was much more to them than their glam hits.
