RIP Richard Roundtree, aka John Shaft, who passed away yesterday. Described as “Hotter than Bond, cooler than Bullitt." on the back of the original paperback on which the first film was based sums the character up perfectly. Roundtree won a Golden Globe for his performance in the first movie and, of course, there is Isaac Hayes iconic soundtrack. We all love the 70s and nothing identifies the decade more than the three original Shaft films.

Sad news... The original Shaft film was possibly the best of the blaxploitation movies from the early 1970s. RIP Richard
