It is sad news indeed. Burt's songs have passed their way through many peoples lives in the past, and the music will live on giving joy to people in the future.
RIP Burt and thankyou for the music.

Very sad news this, but what a great innings at 94 years. His music is often dismissed as 'easy listening' but his talent for melody outshines so many others, and always will. 'Do You Know The Way To San Hose' is the perfect combination of his skill for melody and arrangement with Hal David's lyrics. Villain

Really sorry to hear about Burt, 94 years of age is a great age to live to though. I loved his easy listening type music. I bought a CD of his music only two months ago. I very much liked the music he wrote for the 1967 version of 'Casino Royal' which was so very representative of the sixties.
RIP Burt.

RIP Burt Bacharach - a fabulous back catalogue and legacy of music with many well known tunes - some of which people may not have known he wrote - Very much a musical legend and a great innings too.
