I've just heard that the American actress Kirstie Alley has died at the age of 71. I'm not at all keen on many mouthy US actresses but I liked Kirstie. I remember seeing her in a funny film I enjoyed with Tim Allen in which they were on the run and hid amongst an Amish community. She was also of course in 'Cheers'
RIP Kirstie

Very sad news.
Our youngest liked watching the "Look Who's Talking" trilogy when she was young and I would often have to sit with her when I got home after work while she watched them. That was all I've ever seen Kirstie Alley appear in.
Whatever else she did in or outside of films I don't know but sad to see her die at the age of 71 due to colon cancer.
R.I.P. Kirstie

It was difficult to replace Shelley Long, but in Cheers, Kirstie did it with aplomb. I mean, the makers of the show were savvy enough to not attempt to make the replacement character a Diane Mk 2 which helped, but nonetheless, Rebecca became a very popular character and probably enough to eclipse Shelley for some people. I'm currently writing this while sitting on a fence!
RIP Kirstie
