Former Ferrari F1 driver Patrick Tambay has died. Tambay, who completed 114 races in 9 seasons in the late 70s and early 80s and won 2 races in 1982 & 1983 passed away at the age of just 73 after battling Parkinsons Disease.

Sad news.
I recall seeing Patrick Tambay race during his last season in F1 at the British Grand Prix at Brands Hatch in 1986. In that particular race there were many retirements due to car faults and Patrick Tambay was one of them.
Despite being a well-known driver and having driven for both McLaren and Ferrari he only achieved the two race wins as mentioned by Gene above.
So sad to read of his death through Parkinson's at the age of 73.

Very sad news. It's a shame Patrick never got a good run with Ferrari in the early '80's certainly had the potential to run with (and he sometimes did) the front runners of that period but never got the breaks and then Ferrari faded. Sort of like Barrichello, Massa and Ricciardo not quite up there to nail a least one WDC he maybe deserved. RIP Patrick thanks for the memories and battles you had in a different era of F1.
