Chic Everybody Dance Bee Gees Night Fever Sister Sledge He's the greatest dancer Yvonne Elliman If I can't have you Trammps Disco inferno Frantique Strut your funky stuff Dooleys Wanted Sarah Brightman I lost my heart to a starship trooper Anita Ward Ring my bell Sheila B Devotion Spacer
Any suggestions?
Will do a new wave top 10 from the same great years later😀

Great driving music I find.
Never understood the anti-disco backlash in about '79 in the US.

Disco is unfairly dissed as a genre. Some great tracks were produced around this era, many were sampled for the rave era dance tracks and they bizarrely get more respect. Here's my top 10: erm see next page

Here's my top 10: Special invisible list? It would appear that he didn't like any of them! Never mind though, here's my top ten: 10) Lipps Inc - Funky Town (memories of Annie and me on my original Suzuki during summer holiday in 1980) 9) Amii Stewart - Knock On Wood (same memories, same holiday) 8) Candi Statton - Young Hearts Run Free (different memory, different holiday) 7) Donna Summer - I Fee Love (memory of my first successful "pull") 6) Bee Gees - Night Fever (memories of early dates with Annie) 5) Bee Gees - You Should Be Dancing (as above) 4) Van McCoy - The Hustle (1975 was a pretty good summer too) 3) The Hues Corporation - Rock The Boat (just a great track) 2) Earth, Wind and Fire - September (even better track) 1) Chic - Le Freak (better still)As you can see from the above, and from other previous posts of mine too, many of my favourites are those that evoke particular memories and are not necessarily related to the success or even the quality of that particular track. Accordingly I guess that many may also come under the remit of guilty pleasures. Sam.

There's a lot of snobbery about 70s/80s disco classics. I'm an unashamed fan. Strangely enough though, I love the music but would never dream of dancing, not as a teen and most definitely not these days. A dance music fan who hates dancing. Am I weird and in a minority ? Actually, don't answer that - I think I already know the answer.
