R.I.P Bernard - a legend that will be much missed and there's been so many great roles and childhood memories from the television on different channels too - TV adverts too don't forget, along with the many films and TV roles - a very believable actor and personality.

Brilliant in Fawlty Towers as Mr Hutchinson, and I also liked him as Perks in The Railway Children. RIP Bernard

Came across as a really nice guy to meet, was very entertaining to watch, excellent in Fawlty Towers and Railway Children.

What sad news. Bernard turns up In some great TV and films (I've seen him a few old films that have been on TPTV) he really had a diverse range of roles. Growing up in the 70s and 80s Bernard was to me the voice of the Wombles and I fondly remember his appearances on Jackanory. Great days. RIP Bernard
