I'm sad to report the passing of the rallying legend Paddy Hopkirk yesterday at the age of 89. BBC - Paddy HopkirkMore famous to me for his various TV appearances after his retirement in 1967 Paddy was a regular on motoring programs over the years. From Brooklands Museum: R.I.P. Paddy

Sad news, I bumped into him (literally) at Beaulieu a few years ago during the Mini Cooper Register day, he was a real gent.

R.I.P Paddy Hopkirk, as well as being the Master of the Mini at Monte Carlo. I first knew who he was when I saw his firm's car accessories adverts in car magazines as a kid, then read later he was a rally driver.
