These clips of mute footage shot for the car chase in the south of France in June 1970 for the first episode of the series have just come to my attention so I thought I'd post them here, some of the footage was used and some was left out.... In this first clip the rear number plate of Danny's Dino has been covered up for some reason... Villain

That is superb, thanks a million for sharing those...
I wonder who the red Stag belonged to at the start of the second video??!! If this sequence was filmed in June 1970 it would have been one of the first so I wonder if it was a Triumph registered car??

My thoughts exactly on the Stag - I dare say production geezer Johnny Goodman may have had something to do with its procurement. He also fetched the Dino from the factory in Maranello and drove it to the south of France for the first filming session. He was Robert S. Baker's right hand man throughout the making of the series and picked Tony Curtis up from Heathrow when he first arrived in the UK, alas Tony had some naughty cigarettes and a handgun on his person and ended up in Uxbridge magistrate's court for his troubles! Johnny Goodman took him there in Peter Wyngarde's maroon Bentley S2, the same car which appears in 'Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased)' a couple of times. Villain
