I came across these images of Kensington & Chelsea in '1987' on a photo blog website Flashbak.
Some Sweeney/Minder/Euston related locations in around Ladbroke Grove, Ledbury Road, Lots Road, Latimer Road - including Bramley Arms and North Kensington. Despite being titled 1987 a few from '81 and '88 seem mixed in with this bunch but a minor gripe as they're a good snapshot of how these area's were a decade of so after The Sweeney.

Some good photos on there DE. Quite a lot didn't look much different to what the locations would have been like in the 70s, when The Sweeney was filmed. Only the motors give it away really.

What a great selection of pics taken barely a year before I started going up into the smoke regularly. Thankfully I was in a company car finding my way around through Chelsea and along the embankment to the City and through to docklands. They didn't have the transport links like they have now so I had no choice but to drive, but that has the benefits of seeing so many of these locations. Great find DE, thanks for posting Sam.

Great pics Dirty epic! Its weird coz they seem to look old and retro, but still look like a big gap behind when compared to the Sweeney years! even though there only like 9 years later! after the last episodes being filmed, which in reality it's not a lot. Maybe a lot of it is because of the cars! even though in 87' ya would potentially still have had a lot of motors still left on the road from the Sweeney era! and maybe to, the 80s was when people could start affording to go out and buy new motors. But I did notice compared today, is that there weren't many cars on the streets, in the pictures. probably if ya compare the 70s to 80s, the 80s moved at maybe twice the pace in a lot of areas! Especially when it came to techno and people's thinking and attitude and consumerism, and when, buying stuff ont drip! was taking off! I know cos I've been paying stuff off ever since...

Yes, manythanks DE for these, quite enjoyed looking through those photos of a now quite different era! Some areas had got quite run down by then too, and may well be redeveloped, quite different and much improved by now.
Although in some ways the peoples clothing by the late 80's, people wouldn't necessarily notice much difference now, compared to how clothes in the Sweeney era were. The reg number on that Bentley in one photo though, is now on a 2016 registered Porsche.
