R.I.P Patrick. A favourite of mine. 93 is a good age but condolences to his family all the same.

Really sad to hear this news; I saw it on TV news about 10 minutes ago. R.I.P. Patrick and thanks for all of those brilliant series of The Avengers. Steed

RIP Patrick.
Strange that he should die soon after his schoolfriend Christopher Lee and at the same age. Odd too that only a few mins ago I saw him in an episode of The Avengers, a show I've not noticed on tv for years, whilst flicking through the channels.

Just noticed the news on BBC teletext before, and I'm saddened by it. I was only watching Patrick last week, in an episode of the Avengers from the early sixties. It was video taped and as I watched the program I was struck by how very good Patrick's performance was, especially in close ups. The series he made with Honor Blackman are my favourites, they were very popular at the time. I know the ones he made with Diana Rigg on film are fantastic, but the earlier ones were a bit more serious, and I love them. As Arthur said it's strange dying so soon after his school mate Christopher Lee, then again at that age I suppose you could go at any time. R.I.P.

RIP John Steed. Very sad news and as mentioned, coming so soon after Christopher lee's demise. Like Lee, Patrick Macnee served his country during WWII, I'm sure I read somewhere that he was commander of a Motor Torpedo Boat.
With Lee and McNee sadly gone, and with the likes of Michael Caine and Roger Moore both getting on in age now, it won't be long before the last of our generation's childhood heroes of the screen are no more.

Very sad news. Known as "The English Actor". Appeared in the James Bond Film "View To A Kill", in his notable acting career. RIP

Sad news and another great loss.
He always appeared to be typecast in his roles but he suited them to perfection.

Much like Christopher Lee, he found himself forever cast in US shows & films as their idea of the typical 'English gentleman'. Funnily enough MacNee was in 'The Howling' & Lee in 'Howling 2'.
