I noticed last night that 'The Omega Factor' is currently being shown on Forces TV at 10pm week nights. This is a BBC Scotland series of 10 episodes from 1979 starring James Hazeldine & Louise Jameson investigating paranormal happenings, not unlike the later 'The X Files'. Tonight is episode 3.
Mary Whitehouse didn't like it, branding episode 5 'Powers Of Darkness' as 'thoroughly evil'.
She left this complaint ( see link below ) with the BBC after watching it-
"I am almost lost for words. I want to complain about the The Omega Factor being shown in family viewing time before nine o'clock. It contains scenes of hypnosis, the supernatural, and a man apparently burning to death. It is one of the most disturbing programmes I have ever seen on television. I know that you are moving away from physical violence but now you are moving into the realms of psychological violence. Incredible. And the programme ended with violation of the church with black magic and witchcraft. You may quote me when I say someone must have gone off their heads"

Yes, I was pleased this has come up as I missed it on its original run. Good job for Mrs W that she isn't around today. How would she have coped with Naked Attraction?

Would you believe it as I'm writing this 'The Omega Factor' episode has gone off the air replaced by a 'Service Temporarily Unavailable' message
Material too evil to be broadcast no doubt.

I've not watched anything on this channel but it seems like a ruddy good place to watch some classic television shows...!!
It's good to see this kind of channel gaining popularity.
Long may it continue!!

'The One Game' a 4 part mini series from Central starring Patrick Malahide starts on Monday at 11pm, it's highly rated on imdb but I can't quite work out what it's about from the reviews, "Computer games millionaire Nick is drawn into a sinister and surreal 'reality game' by his ex business partner Magnus".
Noticed 'Oh No It's Selwyn Frogitt' is currently being shown.

'Haggard' is currently showing on Forces TV, a comedy set in Georgian times written by Eric Chappell & starring Keith Barron, Reece Dinsdale & Sam Kelly, it ran for 2 series from 1990-2. It's reminiscent of 'Blackadder' with Barron playing a scheming Squire, Dinsdale as his son & Kelly as his bumbling manservant. Another Chappell sitcom 'The Bounder' is also showing.
Whilst I like 'Rising Damp' I'm not a great fan of the kind of farce Chappell specialised in.

'The Brothers McGregor' is on Forces TV at the moment, according to imdb the brothers of the title had previously appeared in one episode of 'Coronation Street' in 1982 as associates of Eddie Yeats though it wasn't until 1985 that the show appeared, it ran for 3 years & 4 series. The show was written by CS writers & produced by CS producer Bill Podmore. Another sitcom you might vaguely remember, what I saw of it wasn't particularly funny, one brother is white, the other black ( played by Denzil from OFAH ), presumably this alone was enough to provoke amusement in the Eighties.

Yes I remember the Brothers Macgregor, it was sort of watchable. The other brother used to in The Bill

I remember it too, sometimes watched it. Seem to remember they ran a car sales business, as similarly dodgy as Arthur Daley's in Minder.
