I know we like our Ale here at 4:3tv so I thought i'd share this with you. A few of you already know that a friend of mine Dave Scott has started his own Brewery "Kew Brewery". It launched a couple of weeks ago. When it gets a website i will let you know but for now its only on Facebook. Here's the link to the page. Kew Brewery FB page
His beer details He is running a competition (see below for details) from the FB page to win a case of mixed beers. It's competition time here at Kew Brewery! Tomorrow we're brewing our chocolate milk stout, and it still doesn't have a proper name. If you can come up with the winning name for this beer, you can win a mixed case of Kew Brewery beer (and a Kew Brewery t-shirt if they're ready by then). The naming of all our other core beers is influenced by the local area, Kew Gardens, or botanical nomenclature, so we're hoping for something that fits with this, but that also fits with the nature of the beer. The beer itself is a failry low ABV bitter-sweet stout brewed with real organic chocolate, oats and lactose (milk sugar) and is 'dry-hopped' on caco nibs.
The winner will be chosen by the brewer, of course. Deadline for entries is Monday 15th June
Good luck guys.

This sort of enterprise is always good to hear about and I wish him luck. Even more so if he graces us with a free crate for advertising. The Gene Genie.

I may be able to get some free samples further down the line. Being a new business it's chaos at the moment but when the time is right i will ask about a discount etc. I think these beers are aimed at the craft market so will be in the middle price range for bottled beer. I don't have exact details at the minute but will keep you informed.

It's good to see these new breweries starting up, There's a new one in my area called Peerless, which is doing quite well. When I go down to London or up North I always get a decent pint, but in my city quite a lot of pubs just seem to stock Carling, Carlsberg, John Smith's bitter, or Cider none of which I like. They have Guinness of course but I don't drink that these days. I like a good cask bitter or a decent lager myself.

You're absolutely right about that! Some tasty looking ales there. I hope it all goes well for him, Del Boy Not a million miles from me is the UK's oldest licensed brewery - well they claim it is... ...I was thinking, Del, now that Boycie and Marlene have located to south Shropshire, escaping Peckham from the Driscoll Brothers, maybe they would like to visit it some day

Cheers all, i'll keep you posted.
Vienna I don't think it will be a good idea if Boycie and Marlene visit because "Duke" will be after you.

Good luck to your friend Del Boy. Always nice to try different ales from smaller independent Breweries; a very nice refreshing change from some of the not so special mass produced stuff that some breweries churn out. Steed
