Sorry to hear this news. The strange thing is for me is that I was only talking with my son about 'the Moonraker' villian Hugo Drax 48 hours ago.

A fantastic villain, who could go from quiet menace to violent outburst in seconds and still be convincing.

Very Sad news, I watched Smiley's people a few weeks ago and was remarking what a great actor he was.
He had a good innings and an impressive list of film and TV.

I've seen him in quite a few French films over the years & I always wondered why he had an English name, his dad was English.
