Firstly this a valuable thread. Just saw a relatively new channel: Ian's British Retro Channel Plenty of films, tv progs and other footage not seen before. It's only been going for 2 weeks. Examples include Z cars, TOTP, Slade in Flame, The Reckoning. Hope it proves helpful for members of this marvelous forum. Cheers, Stan Thanks for the notification Stan Members can find the complete listings here: >>> Ian's British Retro Channel <<<

I've really enjoyed watching some of the 70's clips on youtube... great distraction from the work I should have been doing this afternoon.
This is great one, showing the sights and some lovely period motors... my word how the streets and the skylines have changed. I'd love to have explored London in this timeframe...

Yes I've seen that channel Stan. Anachronistic Anarchist & Archivetv musings are two others I check every few days for content.
Btw, if there's anything you want to see I'd recommend watching it quick or saving it to your hard drive as these channels can get deleted due to copyright claims. There was a woman who uploaded most of the 70's Z Cars & Softly Softly Task Force episodes, the majority of which are not currently available on dvd, her channel was deleted, she then created another one & that got deleted too
I do have the dvd releases of both shows & would buy any future releases, but in the case of a show like Z Cars there are hundreds of episodes that will probably never be commercially released.
Btw, I recommend the 1970's Z Cars, there are duff episodes but on the whole it's surprisingly good & is as good a time capsule of England in the 70's as I've seen. You get to see suburbia & how the average person lived at that time rather than the usual city locations. He hasn't uploaded the Z Cars episodes in order btw, it is better to watch them in year & series order ( you can check imdb for this ) rather than randomly as there is some continuity between episodes which will be lost if you just watch them randomly. I made this mistake on the Z Cars dvd, I watched one story that turned out to be a sequel to a story I hadn't yet watched.

Tober back again with a grim Health And Safety film about the dangers of confined spaces. There's also another familiar Sweeney face to spot-

I remember watching that exact film back in '92 when I was working for a water company on their waste water (sewage) pumping stations. Not the most salubrious of places to work but overall it was the best job I've ever had.

That's surprising that it was still being used as late as that.

The face is from the Cover Story , James Marcus I believe. He pops up in many of the top shows of the 70s and didn't he play a copper in Law and Order ?
