Remembering the one and only Pat Roach, who passed away 16 years ago today. RIP Pat. Auf Pet would not have been the same without you.

Pat was a larger than life character and fitted in really well as Bomber in Auf Pet. Always remember him on World Of Sport wrestling too. RIP Pat

Such a shame he left us but I suppose he’d be getting on a bit now. Immortalised on our screens and in our hearts though. Saw a rather moving video from “Dennis” on Twitter this evening. I don’t really go in for poetry as a rule but it was very much heartfelt, you could tell.
RIP Bomber

Pat Roach was a huge character that together with the entire magnificent seven bought so much to AWP and made the series what it was. Certainly the first two series were truly iconic and so well written that seven all very different characters made the series what they were, brilliant.
As a character Bomber was unusual in that he often spoke of himself in the third person but that was an endearing trait that added to the character.
When the later series were broadcast it was evident the Pat wasn't 100% and that his health was starting to deteriorate. They weren't as good as the first two series but it was good to see him make the effort when the cast already included a new character as the son of Wayne due to the sad loss of Gary Holton. For there to be any replacement for Bomber too would have made the prospect unworkable.
Pat may well have had other roles and careers outside of AWP but he will always be Bomber.
R.I.P. Pat

Pat Quite right, excellent first two series, all those different characters really made it. Pat just slotted into his role, he hardly needed to act, just be himself, or so it seemed anyway.
