On the 80's fashions & trends thread I tried to describe a type of necklace that I remember lots of people wearing, Cozy Powell is wearing one in the Pop Quiz clip.
The Tomorrow People, ITV's answer to Doctor Who, I don't remember much about it but the theme tune & titles were very memorable.
It was quite good.

I had a look and yes I remember those necklaces being about . Cozy is smoking a fag during this episode, how times have changed. I recently saw an old photo of Leslie Crowther meeting some school children and signing autographs for them at an event in my area. He was smoking a fag whilst doing it! As you mention you can't imagine anyone doing that these days Vi

Can't remember the last time I smelled any cigarette smoke.

Where to start? I have always loved TV and I watched it a lot when I was younger. I think my earliest recollection of TV was "Mary, Mungo & Midge" but the list below is just a small snapshot of what I can remember watching. Considering there were only 3 TV channels, this list is quite impressive. Mr Benn The Clangers Animal Kwackers Magpie Worzel Gummidge Metal Mickey Supergran Play School Play Away Rainbow Stepping Stones Trumpton Camberwick Green Chigley Cheggars Plays Pop Hold Tight! Swap Shop Tiswas Record Breakers Bod The Hair Bear Bunch Inch High Private Eye Hong Kong Phooey Yogi Bear Inspector Gadget The New Schmoo Mr Rossi Dogtanion & The Three Musketeers Around The World In 80 Days Heidi The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn Jackanory Blue Peter Crackerjack Jigsaw Vision On Take Hart Bagpuss Picture Box Screen Test Willo The Wisp The Perishers The Wombles Roobard & Custard Grange Hill Dear Heart Paddington Warner Bros cartoons such as Bugs Bunny, Tweetie Pie & Sylvester, Wile Coyote & Roadrunner, Daffy Duck. Jamie & The Magic Torch Chorlton & The Wheelies Think Of A Number Why Don't You G Force Well, that's do for a start. How many of these do my fellow forum members remember? Steve, I probably watched most of those above with the exception of one or two on your list. I never remember seeing Magpie, or maybe I just didn't enjoy it! I think we used to watch BBC most of the time. Vi

Well done on that list Steve! Incredible that I pretty much know all those series although many I watched more than others. Anybody remember the Grange Hill Spin off, Tuckers Luck as well?
Anybody also remember any of the serialised dramas for kids TV which had quite a serious subject matter? Two 6 parters stick in my mind and have done for years ever since I've seen them in the 80's. Good family shows and the odd scene even a bit shocking. They both featured Sweeney stars in the cast list.
There was "Break in the Sun" (which featured Brian Hall) and "Running Scared" (which had Tony Caunter, Chris Ellison, Maureen Sweeney and James Cosmo).

Agreed Del, I used to like watching those too. I loved the animation in The Pink Panther. I always used to wonder where The Monkees parents were, why would young lads have their own house I remember The Monkees show being a regular one on Granada/ITV until the mid '80's then it just disappeared. Does anyone remember The Beatles cartoon that used to do the rounds back then too?

I seem to remember first seeing the Monkees TV show popping up on BBC1 in the mornings during school holidays; this was after the mid 80s. So maybe the BBC brought the rights?
Weirdly, when working at Central TV in Nottingham - I passed Micky Dolenz in a Corridoor - and never realised who it was; until much later on when I saw him in the canteen stood in a que with everyone else - and Rod Hull and Grotbags (without Emu).
At the time, I wasn't aware that Dolenz was then the head of Childrens Programming at Central TV. So was responsible for a lot of the Central Produced Childrens ITV stuff into the early 1990s. Prior to this he had been employed as a Director at LWT - directing "Metal Mickey"

Remembered a few more: Double Deckers John Craven's Newsround You & Me Let's Pretend Pipkins Cloppa Castle Fred Bassett Wait 'Til Your Father Gets Home The Machine Gunners Borders Fingerbobs Weird, I remember watching all of these but I used to get called in for tea, bed etc otherwise I'd have been out all night. 70's definitely was the best decade
