103 is amazing
My daughter had a chance encounter with her up on the South Downs on a school trip about 10 years ago - she was charming and lovely according to the teacher, and really interested in the kids
RIP Vera

Very sad news despite reaching an amazing 103 years of age. We all owe a huge debt of respect to the troops that she sang to on the front line as they were there under instruction and without choice but whilst she wasn't fighting we acknowledge that for an entertainer such as Vera Lynn to actually care enough to volunteer to go to the front line to entertain the troops it is a huge undertaking for someone in their early 20's. R.I.P. Dame Vera

R.I.P. Dame Vera Lynn.
A clip of her singing was recently on the news when there was discussion about the Queen's speech referring to her most famous song.
Gosh I bet the Queen will be upset.
A ripe old age as they say but still sad. Quite a life.

Sad news, my Dad liked her and remembered her from the war. I remember her turning up sometimes on TV in the early 70s on those Saturday night variety programmes which used to be on then
