Perhaps not unsurprising news Wlliams is up for sale for £13m and have terninated their sponsorship deal with ROKiT too. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/52847040Given their history this is sad news but a lot of Williams problems have been around for a while and the budget cap/share and Covid-19 thing aren't really the main reasons they're in the poor situation they're in right now. Hope it's not a fire sale as few F1 teams which do end up sold on seem to survive let one move forward and have success.

Oh dear what a shame. Unfortunately the writing has been on the wall for some time in their case. Last years non competitive season was a real low point. I hope they can navigate this storm and survive as they have a great history in the sport.

Hope it's not a fire sale as few F1 teams which do end up sold on seem to survive let one move forward and have success. I've put in a bid! I've put in 50p! As I said in my original post a fair number of problems for and within Williams have been around for a while now and can only really be solved by them hence the sale. Got to admit the recent Life In The Fast Lane documentary on BBC didn't really endear me that much to the current running of the team... a big shame as I used to like Williams quite a lot in the '80's and 90's when they were one of the best in the business. I also think they've lost a lot of experience knowledge/development and motivation with Felipe Massa's natural retirement, Rob Smedley leaving the team, taking on pay drivers like Lance Stroll, Sergey Sirotkin etc. and the very unwise hiring of Robert Kubica last year a once good driver with great potential who sadly had injured himself too badly and been out the game too long to be competitive in F1 these days... Hopefully they'll get a buyer who may get them out of the current situation but we've seen sales like Jordan to Spyker, Manor to Virgin/Marussia etc. which don't succeed and usually end in tears.

Sad news indeed, A friend of mine was working in engineering at Williams Performance centre (they sold this off last year to raise capital) Internally they seem to have lost direction and pride, a real shame given the history associated with the family team. Anyone else follow the Netflix documentary 'Drive to survive' - worth to watch it if you haven't, anyway I was surprised how Claire Williams was portrayed in it... not what I expected her to be like at all. A few years ago I visited the Williams experience centre, had a lovely meal and explored the museum - highly recommended if they still allow you to and they survive after COVID - you really got a sense for the journey in F1 through all the cars they have there! Those familiar with Rich Energy and the Haas sponsorship deal will like me feel bitter about this post that was made today too! www.planetf1.com/news/williams-rich-energy/

Thanks for the heads up on the Williams museum Yug. Sounds a good day out.
I really hope they can turn it around but i fear the worst. Williams for all its success is a small team compared to the top of the grid these days. All the greats in thier mold eventually had to call it a day. The likes of Tyrell, Lotus and Brabham spring to mind.
