There certainly are a lot of morons out there! A house a couple of doors away from me has about 4 or 5 different visitors EVERY day, all in separate cars. One of the cars is regularly there into the early hours or even the following morning. The house the other side of them doesn't appear to have visitors but he goes out at least 8 times a day in his car and was doing so even before the travel restrictions were relaxed! Total disregard for everyone else.

Since the pubs aren't open but you're allowed to meet up with someone outside I'm going to wait for hot day and meet up in the park with a mate and a few cold tinnies.
Better than nothing.

I met up with one of my best friends last Saturday for a walk. He lives alone and has also been the only one not working from home so alone all day in the office, too, this whole time which is a horrible situation to go through. And then we find there are people who have basically been doing whatever they like for 2 months

The leader of any country, or any leader of any group, is expected to lead by example or at least set an example in times of hardship. It's one of the 'must do''s of leadership. Like it or not, Cummings as the PM's 'special advisor' is in a similar position.
A collegaue of Cummings was defending his actions on Channel 4 News, but if he doesn't resign or face tough action it gives a green light to anyone in the country to flaunt the rules & if caught they can simply cite Cummings' behaviour- 'one rule for them & another for us'. Like Alex says, people in positions of power know that they are judged by a very different standard, so you can only put such behaviour down to either complete stupidity or a flagrant abuse of power & Cummings is not stupid. He's scruffy but he's 'special advisor' for a reason. He knew what he was doing was wrong, it's no good him using his family as an excuse when most people in the country are in the same position.

Various ministers have defended Cummings actions on social media and have been slaughtered for it I can't believe anyone would be so stupid as to try and defend his actions. He's banged to rights and the best policy would be to apologise profusely and show a bit of remorse and humility They've really misjudged the public mood on this one - especially as there are so many examples of people who were unable to say goodbye to dying relatives during lockdown

Regarding the furore over Dominic Cummings - who gave the vile man permission to breed anyway? He apparently did the trip more than once so he's toast. It seems this guy is above EVERYTHING and doesn't need permission from anyone else to do anything at all. I despised the slimey b****d long before Covid-19.
A point...
Anyone going to report him to Social Services for putting his Children at risk?
He - having symptoms of Covid-19, put his children in a car (an enclosed space) and drove for 5 hours to take them somewhere "safe." Did he not put his children at risk? Mind you, we're told one moment Covid-19 doesn't affect children, then 48hours later, we are told it is deadly to anything that breathes....
So, he shows Symptoms of Covid-19, and chooses to take his kids 5 hours north to his parents - and it happens to be his Mothers Birthday. Timed. Funny coincidence.
The arrogant s**t won't even do the right thing and stand down.
I wonder if he'll "Do a Prince Andrew" and vanish while the heats on...

Just watched Steve Baker Conservative MP say he should go and that he is effectively a loose cannon.

Just watched Steve Baker Conservative MP say he should go and that he is effectively a loose cannon. There is no doubt the Virus is there, contagious and can affect people in different ways. Some show mild symptoms, other's it can be more severe and sadly deadly.
But it's people like Cummins, and no doubt his advice to other MPs (slimey Hancock) who make me doubt what the hell they are up to and wonder if there is a wider picture to all this. (Of Cinemascope proportions - see TV Studio discussion!!!)
But again - I can't understand how and why MPs can rush to Cummins aid...
Either the MPs are totally out of touch with reality and the feeling of the country; or they simply are arrogant - given they have a majority and another 5 years or so to do whatever they want - and are more interested in keeping in line with the backslapping faithful and therefore their position in the cabinet - and an nice well paid job, expenses, and a second home.
Surely, backing someone like Cummins through something like this, you'd be comitting political suicide?
Funny thing - my eldest son seems to think - once this is all "done" and dusted to some extent - there will either be calls for a General Election, or even a Leadership Challenge. And we'll end up with another Priviliged, out of touch scum bag in power.
I don't think Starmer would be much better either.
Here's an idea - an Political Party called the "Party 7" Made up of Gene, Ray, Chris, Annie, Sam, Jack Regan and George Carter.....

Re your Party 7, I reckon if you went it some well run companies, some well run unions, a couple of decent pubs, a couple of effective charities, you could come up with a bunch of people who could form a better government than this lot.
