The thing about Cummings is that he's not even an MP, he's an advisor to Boris. The fact that some unelected figure is influencing policy is bad in itself in my opinion

The thing about Cummings is that he's not even an MP, he's an advisor to Boris. The fact that some unelected figure is influencing policy is bad in itself in my opinion And even old Boris and the immediate cabinet have backed the slimey b*****d up.
As I said - there's a much bigger picture to all this.
Mind - I notice there's been no mention of Dominic Cummings involvement with ARPA and the £800million of taxpayers money. Makes you wonder what he's got over old Boris.
But, whatever anyones thoughts - including Boris backing him up - does Cummins actions not just stick two fingers up to everyone else who have been sticking to the rules for 10 weeks? So - if it was legal or not shouldn't come in to it, what about the spirit of those who have stuck to it.
Bank Holiday Monday tommorrow, nice weather forecast.
How many more will now decide to sod the lock down and go back out?
Second wave around July / August then?

It's just ridiculous and generally farcical now.
I think we should shut this thread down before we all get dangerously annoyed!

Unapologetically flouting the rules is outrageous, but to publicly support someone who has done the indefensible is so misguided I wonder if Johnson has been on the crack pipe? Or he doesn't care what the public thinks? Or.....he's an idiot?
Still at least we now know swanning around the country during lockdown is actually fine.

We have the Government telling us to stop at home, protect NHS, save lives, wash our hands, sing happy birthday 20 times. Mind you, they have 5 years and a majority to do whatever they like.
THing is, now aren't people going to feel encourages to flount the laws even more - the defence when challenged will be (of course) "Well if it's alright for Governement to flaunt it..."
Cunnings (new name) isn't an MP, not Elected and I don't think a Doctor or Scientist - so if it's that easy to get a job in Government, shall we all rock up at Downing Street on Tuesday morning (keeping 2m apart of course)?

I think we should shut this thread down before we all get dangerously annoyed! I won't lock this thread just yet, but I do remind each and every member that we are bound by Proboards terms of service, which as regards Covid-19 are this: From the President and CEO of Proboards: Literally, it could take just one negative report about flippant chit chat on here to have Proboards close us down, and as the President & CEO of proboards has been crystal clear about above, as owners of 4:3tv, myself and Sam refuse to let the hard work and input of this forum be lost for the sake of ill advised comments. I will continue to keep an eye on this thread, as I have from the start and will quarantine it if either Sam or I feel it necessary. Of course, if any of you as members feel strongly enough to see this thread close, please get in touch with me via PM and let me know. Your privacy will be paramount and you will NOT be named on the forum. Thanks again for your understanding everyone. Gene.

Unfortunately what Boris May or not realise is! People will or may no longer have faith in him like before in regards his decision makings.. By Glossing over it today in the briefing is simply sending mixed messages. like people have been saying all day on the news! There’s one rule for the Govt’ and another for everyone one else. He obviously felt that he was between a rock and a hard place! But what is done is done now, it won’t change anything with people going on about it for days. I personally have always obeyed the rules with this lockdown! My conscience is clear, and as a single dad, when even my daughter displayed symptoms last month which may or may not were mild symptoms of the virus, I simply chose not to collect her from her mums! against my daughters wishes, because she wanted to see me, her mother wasn’t bothered either way, but I simply chose not to see her for nearly 3 weeks. The only reason why the virus might be on the turn and looks like it may be slowly diminishing, is nothing to do with any government whether ya like um or not! It’s because the majority of people in the UK are all working together and simply sticking to the social distancing rules!! That’s the only way and no other way that will beat this thing in the long run. But I get very frustrated, understandably like anyone else when I see people not adhering to any of the lockdown measures, because I want the life back I had before!!!!!

Trouble is, the response to Cummings behaviour is a million times worse for us than the behaviour itself, such as rent-a-tantrum Piers Morgan threatening to visit his parents if Cummings isn't sacked. How is a public figure encouraging the public to potentially spread the virus a reasonable response to Cummings behaviour?
We know Cummings is a dodgy character & we know politicians are hypocrites as they continually prove it to us, so his behaviour is not a surprise. In the end, whomever reported Cummings to the media is to blame. If we reported every wrong thing we saw we'd be in a constant state of rage at the World that would make our lives unbearable.
I'm not saying that wrongdoing should not be reported, but I think what this & so many other instances of hypocrisy prove is that ignorance is so often bliss.

I'm not surprised, people have had a gut full of it then there's Cummings, protests a plenty and beach goers for not the first time this lockdown. Its descended in to a can't be bothered attitude from many.
