So glad that the F1 races have been every week. It's the highlight of my weekends as Melburnians still have an 8pm curfew and no visitors or visiting until virus numbers fall. I'm showing the grid as surely people won't still be watching it with the race soon to start!
It's another hot day for racing. Surely the Mercs will be prepared for that. Surely it will be Lewis' race. I don't feel that Bottas has the goods this week. Psychologically it must make him question his ability to beat Lewis when Lewis constantly makes pole position.
I'd like to see Albon or Norris make it to the podium with a third though Leclerc doggedly manages to get the frightful Ferrari to the podium regularly. Good job by him as Seb certainly can't manage it.
I like seeing the pink panthers up near the front (despite the car controversy) but I don't think a good grid position will last. Neither driver has the goods to deliver without a lot of misfortune befalling other cars.
2020 Spanish Grand Prix grid 1. Lewis Hamilton 1'15.584. Mercedes. 2. Valtteri Bottas 1'15.643. Mercedes. 3. Max Verstappen 1'16.292. Red Bull. 4. Sergio Perez 1'16.482. Racing Point. 5. Lance Stroll 1'16.589. Racing Point. 6. Alexander Albon 1'17.029. Red Bull. 7. Carlos Sainz Jnr 1'17.044. McLaren. 8. Lando Norris 1'17.084. McLaren.
9. Charles Leclerc 1’17.087 Ferrari 10. Pierre Gasly 1’17.136 Toro Rosso 11. Sebastian Vettel 1’17.168 Ferrari 12. Daniil Kvyat 1’17.192 Toro Rosso 13. Daniel Ricciardo 1’17.198 Renault 14. Kimi Raikkonen 1’17.386 Alfa Romeo 15. Esteban Ocon 1’17.567 Renault 16. Kevin Magnussen 1’17.908 Haas 17. Romain Grosjean 1’18.089 Haas 18. George Russell 1’18.099 Williams 19. Nicholas Latifi 1’18.532 Williams 20. Antonio Giovinazzi 1’18.697 Alfa Romeo

Spa Day ! I won't mention any of the pre race news in case people are going to watch a lot of it later.
It seems that Lewis may dominate this race. I'm going to have fingers crossed that Ricciardo manages a third. He is starting from fourth.

I was hopeful for a more entertaining race at Spa this year...
The opening dice between Daniel and Max gave me high hopes... but no even with a safety car it wasn't to be :-( Gasly had the best drive of the day for me from 12th on the Grid to finish 8th, he clearly was racing with the memory of his friend on Sunday!

I suspected this all season, despite denials from all involved but... Sergio Perez is to leave Racing Point at the end of the 2020 season and Sebastian Vettel will take his place.
With only Alfa Romeo and Haas still to confirm their line up for next year, either team looks like the only available option left for poor Sergio. Hardly a reward for his efforts in saving the team not so long ago...
Gene.

I don't wish Vettel ill but if he doesn't perform very well he's going to look a right numpty after those error strewn years at Ferrari. Best of luck to Perez.
