Whilst looking at some Jag's online I stumbled across this very rare Jaguar XJ13. Built to take on Ferrari at Le-Mans back in 1966 this was the only XJ13 prototype built complete with a mid-mounted 445 horsepower V12. I think its absolutely stunning Its looks are mix of E-Type and Ford GT40 to my mind.

That's a tasty motor
Where is it now, anyone know? It would be good to see it in the flesh.
Sam.

I never knew about this car until recently. Here's a great site that has a project recreating and racing an exact replica. They also want to make some road going versions too Find out more here Jaguar XJ13 Project
The XJ-13 is a fantastic piece of British engineering.

Those tail lights look like E-Type as well. Sam They certainly do Sam. Its a stunning looking car. If you go to their page via the link above there is an option to have one built. Knowing how much the similar type cars (Eagle roadster ?) were that featured on Top Gear, I would think you would have to be a very rich individual indeed.

I know two blokes who have E Type Jags and have had them for many years. One hasn't seen the light of day for donkeys years, but the other makes an appearance every summer. Very retro to me but timeless all the same. Thanks for posting this up Derek Gene.

Very retro to me but timeless all the same. Thanks for posting this up Derek Gene. Spot on Gene, they are a design classic. When items are designed to perfection like the E-Type Jaguar they age very well and become iconic. The 60's has contributed a fair few Icons like the E-Type. What a great decade.

They are certainly an iconic car but there are some E-Types that I find quite ugly. I think that the roofline of the 2+2 tin-top versions is far too high and ruins the overall lines of the car.
Wouldn't chuck it back if someone wanted to give one to me though...
