Surprised there wasn't a thread for one of my favourite TV programs as a kid...
Don't think it has had many repeats either?

They did repeat "Worzel Down Under" on 'Bravo' in the early cable TV days, around 1994. I never saw any repeats of the TV series.
The two were made by different producers - I'd guess it was a rights thing.
It's out on a DVD box set, I'm sure I've seen it!

I only remember little bits of this as its been nearly 40 years since i saw it Remember Worzel changes his head now and then and was it the Crowman who turns up on a bike. And of course Aunt Sally and the nice cuppa tea and a slice of cake catchphrase.

I believe Jon Pertwee was quite attached to his role as Worzel, more so Dr Who which came before that role.

I found it a bit queasy, all the removing of heads ( the noise of the football fan's rattle in the theme music sounds like a neck being broken ).
The first Worzel Gummidge story was written in 1936, here's a smudge of the severe looking author Barbara Euphan Todd-

And I thought that the Worzel Gummage story was much older than that - early 1900s. I had never realised that it dates from the 1930s.
