Twas a great night! And well worth the ticket! a great line up of stars and made me feel like buying ITC’s other productions on dvd! was interesting when they explained about the restoration process with the series The Persuaders’! and they showed the difference in picture quality of the different versions done over the years and finishing off with Blu-Ray. Lol! It’s a shame no one can Persuade them to finish off the Sweeney and complete series 2, 3 and 4 In blu-ray! after 4 years of waiting it’s long over due!

It was a great evening and I'm sure everyone who attended will agree it was great to see so many stars from the ITC shows. It was nice to also see 4:3tv being represented by not only myself and other staff members Del Boy & The Saint, but also Peter Picard, Get Carter & new forum member Candy Girl. The format of the evening was a Q&A session, that was broken into segments. My intention was to try to speak with some of the actors & actresses but the only opportunity I had was during the interval. The first person I got to chat with was the most important one for me. Derek Fowlds. In fact, it turned into rather a longer chat than I'd excpected and took up most of the interval! It was well worth it though as Derek is an absolute gent. So down to earth and welcoming. Just before everyone settled down for the second half, I spotted another forum member in the audience. It was an absolute treat to see our one and only Harry "Aitch" Fielder in attendance. I couldn't go back to my seat without going over to Aitch and having a natter. As many will know, Aitch is still recovering from his stroke. In true Aitch style though, he was nursing a cold pint of Guinness, hidden under his chair! He really is a great chap and sends his regards to all members of 4:3tv. I don't want to waffle on for too long, suffice to say there were quite a few interesting points made by the stars during the evening. We all came away with the distinct impression that of those who worked with Patrick McGoohan, not many of them liked him and found him very difficult to work with. Quite the opposite impression gained of all those who worked with Roger Moore though. Everyone was unanimous in singing his praises as the most likable person they had ever worked with. Having met Roger Moore myself I can only agree that he really was one in a million. Just a few photos from last weekends ITC Celebration event at Elstree Studios: Aimi Macdonald: The Avengers / The Saint / Man About The House / Dixon Of Dock Green. Annette Andre: The Avengers / The Saint / The Baron / The Prisoner / Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) / The Persuaders / The New Avengers Carol Cleveland: The Saint / The Avengers / Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) / Monty Pythons Flying Circus / Return Of The Pink Panther Caron Gardner: The Avengers / A Hard Days Night / Goldfinger / The Saint Derek Fowlds: Gideons Way / Heartbeat / Yes Minister / Minder Jennie Linden: The Avengers / The Saint / The Persuaders / Dr Who Laraine Humphrys: Space 1999 / Carry On Dick / Carry On Girls Valerie Leon: The Persuaders / Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) / The Baron / The Saint / The Spy Who Loved Me / Never Say Never Again / The Avengers Gene.

Some superb Then & now pics Gene, thanks for posting them up. Some of them have quite worn well over the years it has to be said. It's especially pleasing to hear that Aitch isn't letting the stroke get the better of him and that he is still out and about and enjoying a medicinal Guinness from time to time. Good for Aitch! It looks to have been a good event, thanks for the report. Sam.

Excellent report Gene and many thanks. Fabulous to hear everything that was said and from the stars that attended!
Gutting though it was, but as those that attended may know I fully planned also to attend this event but had to abandon going as late as 2:30 pm same day, due to an emergency call about my Mother who was admitted to hospital the same day. I was still at the hospital till around 6:40 pm which was too late to attend the event in the end sadly and it would have seemed wrong to whizz off to Elstree after making a fleeting visit to her. She is doing much better now thanks but not out of hospital just yet.
But back to topic, so glad that a few 4:3 TV members could make it and it was such a fabulous sounding event, and great also to hear Aitch made it too and is not letting his recent stroke he is recovering from get the better of him, and that you managed to speak to him Gene, nice one! Keep going Aitch!
The famous faces attending would have been well worth seeing, Derek Fowlds and Annette Andre being the top ones, I was really looking forward to seeing, but pleased for those that did and for Gene that you managed to get a good chat with Derek!
The then and now photos are superb too and will have to check out again the productions they appeared in to see remind me of whom they played as I've a number of those series and have them on DVD.
Another mate of mine from my town also attended (he played "Mickey Harris" in the "Theives and Weirdos" some of us on this forum were in) with his Randall and Hopkirk/Department S car (FD Vauxhall Ventora) which going by photos I saw later was parked with a Caterham Seven (representing The Prisoner Lotus Seven) and one of the specially made prop vehicles for U.F.O, the Science Fiction ITC series of 1969/70. Think it was Mini based in real life. So some of you may have noticed the vehicles parked outside and saw them (I would have loved to have seen the U.F.O vehicle!).
I remember reading the book of the ITC story, I got a few years back (a mate now has it after I read it) and yes the recollections of Patrick McGoohan weren't great to say the least - Annette Andre didn't seem to have a single good word to say, and regarding Roger Moore, it mirrors what people said last Saturday night at Elstree - a true gent!
Glad it went well!

Thank you for your report Gene. I'm so glad it went so well and that you had such an enjoyable time. Its great that that got to chat to Derek Fowlds, who I've heard is a really nice bloke.
As for Patrick McGoohan, I've heard that he could be difficult to work with particularly on The Prisoner series, were he was under a lot of pressure as it was his project. I remember reading once that the fiery actress Adrienne Corri took off on him once in a studio corridor, after hearing that McGoohan had said something about her which she didn't like. After that Patrick was all charm and apologies.
Wish I could have been there though. Perhaps I might go to a future Elstree Event, and take the wife down with me and make a weekend of it.
Charles.

Really enjoyed the evening! It was great see the stars and Derek Fowlds was charming. Lovely to see and hear from Matt Zimmerman - my son was quite jealous when I told him he was there. Was impressed too with Quoit Media who managed to get me a ticket at the last minute even though the event was officially sold out (I mean I know they want the money but Rick was still really helpful) :)

It's a shame I missed out on this event, but it was difficult for me to attend last weekend. However, good to see Gene and other members enjoyed it. Some great photos there... BTW, I share a birthday with Annette Andre, although i'm somewhat younger Vi
