Really looking forward to this! and seeing the squad. Not seen Steptoe and son for years, remember watching the film in about 1978’ when I was a kid, and watching the odd episodes with my dad. Over all its extremely funny and the pace of the humour is fast moving, and like a lot of other 70s comedies it’s very none political correct and sexist, which is just absolutely splendid lol! the question is will Del’ be Albert or Harold

Sadly I'm going to have to back of the meet on Sunday, I've been stitched up like a kipper by our roster clerk (again) with a last minute change of shift on Saturday which means I won't finish until late Sunday morning. I should have been annual leave but it's been kyboshed at the last minute with no way of claiming it back. The **** roster clerk has been given the sack and stitched up hundreds of drivers as a 'parting shot' before collecting his cards. Sorry to be a pain in the Aris' but it can't be avoided - hope the day goes well for the squad anyway. I was also hoping to come down to the meeting point in the Cooper S which would have been a nice outing for it... ah well. Villain

I will however be pointing out more bonus locations during the day than at any previous Meet so it really will be a real location extravaganza!- Harold en route to his Wedding. I'll take you on a 1 hour tour of this wonderful 186 year old Cemetery, which will take in various film locations including Steptoe & Son Ride Again etc. After leaving the Cemetery, we will make one more stop for a 1 hour rest break at a nearby iconic establishment. This will give everyone a final chance to rest before the final leg of the tour. Part 3.

People are free to do as they wish from this point onwards. So there it is. This Meet follows on nicely from our previous "London Revisited" Meet from 2018. As stated above, we will pass many bonus locations from other productions on the route such as Minder, The Professionals, Villain, Theatre Of Blood, The Sweeney to name a few. Details of these bonus locations will be kept as a surprise until on the day. Any questions? Let me know.

UPDATE:
Well, we've had a marvelous run over the last 14 years but.... I've just seen the weather forecast on the Met Office for Sunday and it has forecast very heavy rain. I have already planned a backup route that avoids what would have been a pleasant 25 minute walk during the first part of the Meet, but there is no way I can avoid us getting wet after that I'm afraid as all locations will be visited on foot. I certainly won't let this spoil the day for me and neither will it impact the itinerary at all. We will still be doing each and every location that I've planned. That said, there may be scope to dodge into a hostelry during the walk if the rain gets too heavy So, my advice is TAKE A RAIN COAT OR UMBRELLA if you don't want to get soaked. Whatever you do, please don't turn up on Sunday and say "no one said it was going to rain" Gene.

Ever the optimist, the excellent AccuWeather has Sunday with ‘periods of rain’ so let’s hope they’re minor and they’ll never dampen our spirits. As you say, we’ve had a good innings and when I was working the same weekend last year, the Saturday was dreadful with constant rain but Sunday was brilliant and I remember thinking Gene’s on bloody first name terms with the weather gods.
