Not wishing to derail Vienna's Beatles studio album thread i thought i'd give a home to discussion for the tons of other Beatles material.
I was just listening to The Beatles Past Masters on You Tube and really liked these tracks sung in German.

If anyone hasn't heard The Let It Be Naked album then its highly recommended. Its a clean up of the Let It Be Studio album which The Beatles except John were not happy with. Phil Spector did an ok job on some songs i thought but Let It Be naked improves the content by using different takes and removing some of the fakery employed in Spector's version. George Martin's son is the engineer on this record and its a great job.
I've always liked this Harrison number built around a waltz tempo. Harrison wasn't too keen on any of the Get Back / Let It Be Album as he comments on the Get Back film " none of these are any good except Get Back."

Paul McCartney has posted about the death of Robert Freeman aged 82.
Robert worked extensively as a photographer for The Beatles from 1963-1966. He produced some of the band's most iconic album cover pictures including "With The Beatles" and "Rubber Soul".

That was a good write up from Paul. I love the way He is so proud and protective of the Beatles legacy. I dont remember hearing about Robert Freeman before. He was probably mentioned in all the Beatles books I read in the eighties though. He certainly took some wonderful photos.
Charles.

BBC Four recently showed again The Beatles Made on Merseyside this weekend. Hopefully this might be on iPlayer for those wanting to catch it.

I'd heard about him i think on the anthology where the Rubber Soul album photo was discussed. It was a happy accident on how the picture was produced. As Paul mentions in the write up for Robert he was using a projector and the image fell over and gave the effect as per the album cover. They all said we'll have that one.
