As big a fan I am of most retro TV etc, I'm a huge John Thaw fan and was wondering what everyone's opinion would be of Redcap?
It ran for two seasons from 1964-1966, in which he played Sgt. John Mann of the Special Investigation Branch of RMP. He was only 22 at the time, but really made his name on television, of the 26 episodes made, 23 still survive.

I saw this a few years ago and thought it was very good. Thaw was excellent as Mann and I liked seeing him show a more sympathetic side to his character as the episodes went along. I liked the episode about the killer in their ranks and a terrific scene was where Mann chewed out an insubordinate played by George Sewell with whom he'd clash again years later in the Sweeney episode Bait.
