Very sad news. I liked Windsor he seemed liked a really nice guy, and a credit to Wales. The first time I ever remember seeing him was on a BBC schools programme when I was a kid.
I noticed him the other day in a 1965 Poirot comedy film, 'The ABC Murders.' He was very young in it, and it might have been one of his first screen appearences.
RIP Windsor.

RIP Windsor. To me he will always be the Sergeant Major in It ain't half hot mum. Brilliant comedy timing as the bullying NCO! He was inspired apparently by a Sergeant Major he had during his national service. Also in the a army Carry On as a similar character and an episode of Special Branch circa 1970 as a coast guard officer in scenes with Queens Pawns Keith Washington (The news reporter in the Sweeney ep outside the court). Never the Twain provided him with regular work, although he and Donald Sinden were rather wasted in it! He goes to join his long time friend and IAHHM co star and Whispering Grass performer Don Estelle. Great I their scenes in the series.

Saddened to hear of Windsor's passing. He was a regular face in many of the programmes and films from my favourite era and I'm pretty sure he did a stint on Jackanory Windsor was really at home as a credible Sergeant Major, a recurring character in film and tv over the years for him. There was a reason for him reprising that role, there was no one better ! RIP Windsor Davies

RIP Windsor. He was brilliant as a sergeant major, Dad said he was very much like one he came across when he was in the army.

Very sad news. He raised the bar for comic blustering and shouting, hence the genius that was his character in IIAHM. RIP
