One of many good 80s sketch shows that used to frequent the Beeb. Hasn't been a good one for quite a while.

I got 'Secret Army' on dvd recently & watched the first episode yesterday, one scene featured a couple of high ranking Nazis ( a 'good' one & a 'bad' one ) arguing in a room much like that one.

During the late 1980s they did a show for LWT called 'The World According to Smith and Jones', in which they looked at the history of the world using film clips. It ran for two series but the BBC, apparently, were not happy about them working for a rival channel. I thought they were quite funny at the time, however, the show had mixed reviews. Vienna, any more World According To where they came from? They were fab, those eps!

That was also a very similar scene to what I experienced when I visited our local council to see about planning permission. They didn't have swastikas on their arms though!
Anyway - loved "Alas Smith & Jones" - another great (but forgotten) series. Thing is - Mel Smith went into Directing - sadly passing away early on. Griff Rhys Jones tended to move towards making documentaries.

Yes Sparks, Griff made some interesting programmes a few years ago, including a series about British rivers. Vi

In 2015 Griff Rhys Jones hosted a 'part quiz part panel show' filmed in various museums across the UK cringeworthily titled 'The Quizeum'.

I like those shows where you get a presenter with a keen & knowledgeable interest in a subject - send them out with a camera crew and go exploring. Far, far better than the uneducated hired-hair do making smug remarks, accompanied by a couple of montages featuring dreadful music.
Griff also ended up on "It'll be alright on the Night".
