Now I'm back working and earning again, I'd like to have another proper car one day, the trouble us that prices on old Fords (my favourites) have gone a bit silly. The only stuff in my current price range is ones from the 90s or early 00s, which I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in.
One Ford I like is the Consul Classic, which were made from 1961 to 63, I like the unusual styling and they were actually a good quality well made car. The performance didn't match as they were heavy and only had a 1340cc engine. There was one on eBay a week ir two back which was just about affordable but it needed a lot of work. I'll keep looking

There were the odd one knocking about on the roads in the late 70s when I was learning to drive. There was also a coupe version called the Consul Capri

Even the Mondeo has been about for 26 years. That went quick. Very true Del, IIRC the Sierra it replaced was around less than 11 years and the Cortina near enough 20 so it's outlasted them both.

I tend to go with the Corrina too. The Mark 2 Consul/Zephyr and Zodiac are another favourite of mine.

The mark 2 I think was the best version of the Zephyr and Zodiac, made from 1956-62
