I've never owned a Capri but I aim to put that right one day (along with the mk3 and mk4 Cortina … and … and … ) Sam I have owned 2 Capri's. The first was a 1982 X Reg 2.8 Injection, the second was a 1982 Y Reg 2.8 Injection. Absolutely great fun to drive and mine were very reliable too! Steed

Another great spot today by our DI Alex Drake. A very tidy Hillman Avenger 1500 Super. Registered 1973 (46 years old) Passed it's MOT in May 2019 & taxed until May 2020. Thanks for sending me the photo Bollykecks.

Thanks, Guv! It looked very special - shame about everything else in the car park! I popped down to Plymouth to take my mum shopping (she doesn’t drive and isn’t particularly mobile at he moment) and we spotted this at Morrison’s! I clocked it while finding a space and when we walked past she knew what it was and remembered someone she knew having one back in the day. I don’t suppose they still have theirs, however!

My brother had an Avenger estate for a while back in the mid 80s, seemed like an okay car until he stuffed it into a tree and knackered the offside front wing, suspension and steering. It was a similar if not the same blue as the Hillman Hunter that was in Thou Shalt Not Kill. Great spot Bolly, thanks for taking the picture and thanks again Gene for hosting it. Sam.

My Dad had a brown Avenger like that for a while when we were kids and when I was 18 I had one too but the later version. All was good until I put it on its side in the wet in to a hedge. That was the end of that. I had only had it 28 days.

Oh no! Both met unpleasant ends. I hope you and Sam's brother were both unhurt in your respective write-offs!

This lad I was at school with, his Dad had an Avenger, it was a metallic turquoise colour and was L regd. Used to get the odd lift to school off him in it if they saw me at the bus stop towards the end of the fifth year, about early 76. I thought it was quite a nice car.
