This time two classics spotted in their heyday. The Cortina on the left - RWF 590G was registered on 1st July 1969 and lasted until 1st August 1986. Though you wouldn't want to sit next to the driver of either car if they had been in the building they are parked in front of.... Gene.

What a cracking piece of engineering G.C. They don't make them like that anymore.

Fabulous spot and Smudges GC! Fintail style Merc 220S, I agree one of Mercedes best I would say myself! The Speedometer on those was vertical, although not sure if read top to bottom or visa versa, but very unusual!

Saw a dark blue D reg Vauxhall Astra with a boot (saloon). Rare back in the day too I’d say. Paint was really good for a Vauxhall, so it’s was an unbelievable time warp classic, or someone has restored it. I’m not sure where mark 2 Astra’s are in the classic world, but I’d definitely prefer a mark 2 Cavalier from that era.

A very rare sight indeed AFAIK the Astra Belmont wasn't as successful as Ford's Orion back then. I've seen a odd mk2 Astra hatch here and there but no Belmont's for years. Might be a car that's been cherished by it's owner these exist but at around 35 years old or so yes it could be a classic restoration job too, they're certainly rarer than say Victors, Viva's and other Vauxhall's from earlier era's. ... Whether they deserve saving and considered classics is up to personal taste?
