The cars in the second series aren't being done in Ants workshop; they are farmed out to other companies for the main resto then brought into his place for final fit up. This is probably why you don't see much of the resto work itself. In the first series he did it all in house of course. I also think it sstrange they don't incorporate the labour costs into the final figure; yes the production company probably pay up for that but its the same in Wheeler Dealers; that pair never turn a profit in reality.

Excellent information Dick and makes total sense as to why you see little of the graft.

Makes sense. I don't care where the work is done I would like to see the process.

Makes sense. I don't care where the work is done I would like to see the process. Yes same here Del; all the programmes were made over the same period; Ant just dived between them all doing filming here & there. For production reasons they couldn't film each one separately as it would've taken months & the first completed car would've been sitting around for ages before the auction last November. For that reason we don't see as much of the process as the first series where all the cars were completed in house but again all at the same time. Having worked on a TV programme in the 90's it made sense they did it that way; the Rover SD1 was actually done about 15 miles from where I live at a Triumph specialist. A good series though; knocks spots off Wobbly Dealers!!

Cheers for the detail dick. Yes i like this series and the cars are done to a good spec. They then spare us the annoying sale scenes as seen on the wobblies.

Still haven't watched the last 3 episodes of this series yet. Plan to over the weekend. This series has now finished its broadcast run but they are already discussing ideas for series 3. Great stuff !

Finally getting around to watching the last 2 or 3 episodes of this series. The one I watched today about the air cooled motors (Beetle, 2CV, Porsche etc) was a real eye opener - not least because part of it was filmed about 300 yards from my front door!
The Beetle they restored was an absolute peach and fetched £14500.
Did our resident Beetle man see this episode ? Brown Granada ?

Very enjoyable series this. Very impressed with the finished vehicles. The Transit was a beauty. Did you see the filming take place Gene ? TC

It is fascinating when you find out that filming has been so close. So unexpected when you're watching TV or film and one of your local roads or houses appears.

Gutted, as it really was just a few seconds walk away. Gene.
