This is a great series but this run has been superb: Audi Quattro,MK1 Golf & Saab 96, all favourites of mine. Great to see Erik "on the roof" Karlsson too I agree with some of the comments that there is sometimes a little too much faff and not enough time spent on the actual restoration. Still, great all the same.
Transit next week It's a great show I think. That bloke with Ant Anstead looks a bit like me ! The Gene Genie

There's certainly no better car to start off with, I recommend it wholeheartedly.
It will be good to see my old Aston in the programme too, I wonder how Danny Wilde's Ferrari has fared over the years? Anyone know if it still turns a wheel?
Lord B. Morning your Dukeship Apparently the Dino is back in Itay and its current (long time) owner isn't the slightest bit interested in its famous TV past, a real shame but I suppose there's nothing anyone can do about it unless it changes hands again.

I've been following this series from start to finish and I did enjoy the Transit one. Nice that they restored the original signwriting but I would have liked to have seen more of the restoration. Some of the cars covered in the other little bits aren't even the same as the project vehicle which I think's a bit pointless.
Who'd have thought though that a MK1 Tranny would make 9.5k at an auction when I remember tatty ones of those still eeking out their last years in the 80's!

That Mk1 Ford Transit turned out great I have a Mk1 Ford Transit myself, it has been in my family for about 20 years, it is expeptionally low mileage, in mint condition and currently in storage. I will see if I can get to it this week and take a photo or two to post on here. The Saint

I look forward to seeing that too. Is it also a bullnose diesel variant?
Back to the program though and I feel a bit cheated by it. Why go off talking about taxis, Land Rovers, and tanks? There was so much more that could be covered in talking about Transits yet we had a dog-walker with her black cab and a bloke with a six-wheeled armoured car! Why not talk about the variants of the Transit: the Luton van, the minibus, the flat-bed, even a dormobile. Could have talked about engines, or even more of the restoration itself.
Unfortunately there's been too much of the side issues this series.
Still a bloody good restoration though.

No it is not a bullnose variant. I hope to have a couple of photos up on here by the end of the week.

Here are a few pictures of my Ford Transit, as you can see it is in great condition as it has never been used! Sorry lads, I could not resist this little joke! But it has given me an idea for a new thread about model cars.... The Saint
