I prefer Earth Wind and Fires 1978 version of Got to get you into My life to the original.
Said it! Waits for flak!!

Said it! Waits for flak!! No flak from me - I think it's a better version too. I have similar views on Joe Cocker's version of With a Little Help From My Friends which I'm only allowed to listen to when Mrs Nightfly is out of the house.

Don't necessarily prefer it, but I do like The Stylistics 1976 version of Can't help falling in love.

I prefer Earth Wind and Fires 1978 version of Got to get you into My life to the original. Said it! Waits for flak!! I've not had the pleasure of hearing this version so i was intrigued to listen to it. It is a mould of different styles and while i don't think it improves on the original in any area it is a competent cover. They do a good job on it in terms of putting a Earth Wind & Fire sound to the track. Always good to hear recommendations thanks Carty.

Controversially, I don't dislike Dollar's 1980 cover of I want to hold your hand....
(Hides!)

Controversially, I don't dislike Dollar's 1980 cover of I want to hold your hand.... (Hides!) Dollar is one of my "guilty pleasures", even though Mr Van Day comes across as a bit of a Merchant when he's off stage, but have to agree that I Want To Hold Your Hand was their weakest single by far. Loved their cover of Oh L'Amour in 1988. Good call on The Stylistics. Hadn't heard the track in years until a couple of weeks ago when it appeared on the radio a few times and had forgotten what a great version it was.

Dollar are one of my guilty pleasures too! Their best was Shooting Star, from the end of 1978, which I think was a great record.

I must agree on the above. Both tracks are good pop records and DVD is a Merchant off stage Would a certain little blond singer be the reason Dollar are your guilty pleasures ?

There were one or two at about that time, Del. Kathy from the Dooleys, Linda from the Nolans, Kate Bush, Sheena Easton...
