There's a great film on tptv tomorrow ( 30th Dec ) at 9.05pm, 'Money Movers', a 1978 Australian film featuring Ed Devereaux from The Sweeney episode 'Jackpot'. Definitely one of the best & most realistic crime thrillers I've seen, it's hard as nails compared to similar American films.
I have set my Sky box, thanks Arthur The Saint

Good spot Arthur.
I googled it and it's also on Youtube if you miss it on TV.

I don't remember watching 'Skippy' on tv but Ed Devereaux & Tony Bonner who play a pair of security guards in 'Money Movers' appeared in it together.
Bonner was asked to audition for James Bond along with Roger Moore, he was also the first male nude centrefold in 'Cosmopolitan' magazine in 1972. Apparently when casting Bond at that time they were looking for a Robert Redford type as Bonner mentions in this article-

I remember Skippy, now you mention it I recall Deveraux being in it.

I just noticed that tonight at 6.50 pm it's.... Dead of Night (1945)The first of the horror anthologies and probably never bettered. Four segments by acclaimed directors.
Best remembered for Michael Redgrave and his malevolent ventriloquist doll
It's a chiller and no mistake
Dead of Night is a 1945 British anthology horror film, made by Ealing Studios. The individual segments were directed by Alberto Cavalcanti, Charles Crichton, Basil Dearden and Robert Hamer.
It stars Mervyn Johns, Googie Withers, Sally Ann Howes and Michael Redgrave. The film is best remembered for the concluding story, which features Redgrave and concerns a ventriloquist's malevolent dummy.

First watched this years ago and found it quite chilling.

It's an excellent film Dirty, well worth recording & watching on a big screen. Watching it last night I'd forgotten how violent it is, if anything it's too violent, the violence is considerably more realistic than we're used to seeing in a US film. I think if it was an American film it would be considered a classic of its type.

'Only When I Larf' mentioned by Villain earlier in this thread is on tonight at 9.05pm. Based on a novel by Len Deighton this 1968 film features Richard Attenborough, David Hemmings & Alexandra Stewart as a trio of confidence tricksters. Very catchy theme tune by Whistling Jack Smith.
The film on after it 'The Lost Continent' is bonkers. Made by Hammer in 1968 & based on the Dennis Wheatley novel 'Uncharted Seas' it's well worth a watch if you enjoy bizarre films.

Is that about a ship which gets lost in heavy seas and emerges in some kind of world where shipwrecked mariners from hundreds of years ago, like pirates etc are stranded there? Dana Gillespie was in it, from memory. Also, the steam, or diesel, powered ship was able to escape, while the sailing ships couldn't
