I wonder how many people actually try their hand at cooking some of these meals they show us. A few middle class people maybe ?
Charles.

Yes, with a lot of time on their hands. In the real world its usually a case of get something from Asda/Tesco that you can shove in the oven for 20 minutes

I'd put satellite channel sport into room 101. I think, apart from football, it's helped marginalise every major sport in the UK. Do you remember when the boxing, cricket, rugby etc were on terrestrial telly and you knew a lot about what was going on in the sports world, and boxers and even speedway riders were major stars. I'm sure a boxer like Kell Brook is rich from sky, but the man/woman in the street doesn't know who he is - a shame. I miss the old days of ITVs Fight Night with Reg Gutteridge commentating on Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank, Michael Watson etc - great days.

On the subject of cooking programmes, why so many? I cannot stand the ponciness of them, especially the "critics" who judge the food. Self righteous, self opinionated, self obsessed. Let's see what you can do before you start slagging someone off who has spent hours making food for you to pontificate on. Besides, it's all down to your taste, one man's meat is another man's poison. It all comes out brown anyway Totally agree, Steve. Everyone involved in these programmes seems to irritate me, too! Most of us just seem to live on ready meals and junk food nowadays as it's nice and quick so I don't really understand the fascination with cookery programmes, with many of us not having the time to cook proper meals, it seems. Also, DIY, house buying and antiques shows just seem to fill daytime TV these days Vi

I'll stick me neck out here as I'm sure someone will disagree...
Adele.
Quite how she has gained so many entries in the Smooth Radio Top 500 is a total mystery to me. Nothing personal at all. I just can not stand her voice.

No disrespect to her fans on here but can't stand all the hype surrounding her to be honest and don't really know what all the attraction/fuss is with Adelle. All seems like the Emperors new clothes to me just the same old repeated dirgey slushy ballads etc. etc. with no real life to them. Also see Ed Sheeran too.

Adele and Sam Smith produced probably the worst ever Bond themes in my opinion - mind you, Spectre was crap anyway so the theme suited it to a tee. Sam (Tyler)

I also hate the way Sky use sport to tie people to expensive subscriptions full of channels they never watch. I dread to think how much my parents have paid over the years just so my dad can watch live cricket & the odd football match, they very rarely watch any of the other sat channels & I'm sure this is the case with the majority of Sky subscribers.
