Was in Asda on Monday and they have got Christmas displays going up already - sitting nicely alongside the Halloween ones. Ridiculous. IIRC didn't Studio have a TV ad running from late August for getting in early for Christmas or something?
A bit like when the Christmassy shows and programmes appear in April-June... really! I gather there is a channel on Freeview already showing US/Canada produced Christmas made for TV Films - it may be Hallmark or something similar.

American made for TV Christmas films are just a whole new level of terrible. ...and soon there will be those annoying Xmas music pop up radio stations on DAB... which will be alongside the standard stations playing Xmas music too. Don't get me started. ...and I feel sorry for anyone who works in retail during October to January...

There are already Christmas music channels on Sky and there are a couple of Christmas movie channels that have been running for well over a month now. Madness.

I like Christmas, but during the festive season only.
This year I’m hoping to get a full tank of fuel and an HGV licence.

Have you seen that channel Great! Movies Christmas? It started last September & shows Christmas themed films 24/7. There's another channel with Christmas in the title that seems to broadcast year round. Surely there's a law against it

American made for TV Christmas films are just a whole new level of terrible. Yeah, they are dreadful. They all seem to be shot in some quaint snowy town in Canada and each story is identical to the last.
Not one Punch Up or Car Chase. No one is ever told to "Get their trousers on..." and no-one ever has " 'oops" for dinner.

I don't think the British Christmas films are much better, although Love Actually is the one I use to check which Hugh Grant film is showing because I can never tell them apart. He seems to play the same character in all of them ie: Politician who lives in leafy North London who is a love cheat, Author who lives in leafy North London who is a love cheat, Heir to a million pound empire from leafy North London who is a love cheat... etc. When they show Love Actually I can actually recognise which film it is....but that's only because Bill Nighy makes an appearance. I'm the same with Colin Firth. In fact it would make a good quiz trivia question:- Q: Which film stars Colin Firth as a rich solicitor who lacks romance in his life because of his shy and awkward persona ? A: All of them.

Except The King's Speech which stars Colin Firth as an ascendent to the throne who has a speech impediment because of his shy and awkward persona. Sam.
